QFZ CEO Meets Malta Ambassador to Discuss Investment Cooperation

Doha: Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, met with HE Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the State of Qatar, to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. 

Focus on Economic and Investment Ties

During the meeting, both sides reviewed opportunities to deepen cooperation in attracting investment and supporting stronger business links between Qatar and Malta. 

Discussions also highlighted the investment opportunities available in Qatar, as well as the advantages and incentives offered by the country’s free zones to international investors and companies. 

Promoting Qatar’s Free Zone Opportunities

Qatar Free Zones Authority continues to position the country’s free zones as attractive locations for companies seeking access to regional and international markets.

The meeting with the Maltese ambassador formed part of wider efforts to encourage foreign investment, expand international business partnerships and showcase the facilities and incentives available to companies operating from Qatar’s free zones. 

Tour of Business Innovation Park

Following the meeting, the Maltese ambassador was given an introductory tour of the Business Innovation Park at Ras Bufontas Free Zone. 

The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the infrastructure, business environment and investment ecosystem available within the free zone.

The discussions reflect the continued interest of Qatar and Malta in strengthening economic ties and exploring new areas of cooperation in investment and business development.
